Bicycles
Mountain bikes are supplied for the tours free of charge. Our bikes,  KALIN-ANAKX are French made, of  very good quality and are always in perfect condition. They have STX-RC SHIMANO gears & wheels, front suspension forks, and a water bottle holder. They comply with the mountain bikes safety standards 95-937. We have different size frames to suit each participant. You are free to bring along your own bike or saddle if you wish. There is nothing better than your own bike. The bike has to be a mountain bike of good quality and preferably with front shocks.

 Wadi Rum

Cycling
The type of cycling is always point to point. Meaning we travel in a direction and each night is at a different place. We bike 5 to 6 hours a day, depending on itinerary, terrain, condition of participants and weather. We bike 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 hours in the morning. Break for lunch and a rest for 2 1/2 hours, and then bike 2 to 3 hours in the afternoon. We cover between 25 to 35 Km per day.

Pace
In general the pace of the tour is moderate, but changes according to terrain. The off-road cycling is usually slower than the on-road. More energy is required for the off-road.

Terrain
The terrain on our tours varies all the time. In general it is off-road cycling and there is some on-road cycling. There are rough narrow tracks, agricultural roads, sandy desert train, small village roads and other normal roads. In general there is little traffic in Jordan outside the main cities.

The landscape & terrain varies day to day. We usually pass nomadic Bedouins living in traditional Bedouin tents on our tours. At the same time we pass cemeteries and various historical landmarks and sites.

Group Size
The group size is usually 5 to 15 participants plus the guide. We reserve the right to run a tour with a number of cyclists less than five. We cannot guarantee a minimum number of cyclists. We also reserve the right to exceed the number of maximum cyclists by one or two.

Level of Participants
Regardless of level or ability of bikers our bike tours are enjoyed by all participants. Participants must be reasonably fit, confident and with some experience in mountain biking. Our tours are suitable for different standards of cyclists since each cyclist bikes on his or her pace and always finding someone with similar biking ability.

Participants Responsibilities
Participants are required to comply with all the instructions and regulations given to them by their guide. Respect the safety and welfare of other cyclists. Riders are required to maintain and look after their bikes during the tour. If you require assistance please ask your guide. Cycling helmets are highly recommended on the tour, but it is up to the cyclist  if he or she wants to wear one.

Guides
All our guides are talented, caring & fun. They are experienced cyclists, and have a great knowledge of Jordan and its tracks. They all speak English and French. They are all first aid and CPR trained and carry with them a first aid kit at all times.

Assistance & Staff
All baggage, camping equipment, water, food and  other supplies are transported by 4X4 support vehicles. Our support vehicles will meet you a few times throughout the day to offer more water & drinks, and mechanical assistance (flat tires or spare parts). Generally we have one to two vehicles on the tour depending on the number of participants. All staff including cook are local Jordanians and Bedouins.

Transfers
There are a few transfers during the tour. There are certain valleys, some hills and some terrain that cannot be biked. Participants are transferred by taxi, or minivan and the bikes are transported by truck to the start of the ride or to the campsite.

 Accommodation
Accommodations in Amman, Dead Sea, Petra & Aqaba are usually in hotels. Our normal packages use 3 &  4 star hotels depending on the city. For hotel upgrades, downgrades, or single supplements, please contact us. Some tours use guesthouses, small motels and campgrounds.

All other nights on the tour will be spent camping.  We choose the sites with perfection in mind. We stay at picturesque campsites that also offer top quality amenities and safety. Generally speaking the weather is pleasant most of the time for sleeping under the stars. At the same time we supply single & double dome tents that are fast and easy to erect.  We also supply sleeping mattresses that can be used in the tents or outside. You are free to bring your own tent if you wish. Please note that we do not provide any sleeping bags and that you are required to bring your own.

Toilet & Shower
There are many private places along the tracks & around the campsites for toilet use. Toilet paper has to be burnt. The group will agree on a toilet area upon arrival at campsite. We will provide you with a sufficient amount for water for showering everyday. Warm water as well for the wintertime or upon request. Moreover, there are various protected private areas suitable for showering around the campsites. Portable chemical toilets and portable shower shelters are supplied for upgraded packages or upon request.

All of the meals on the tour are prepared by our cook & staff. It is local food and it is always fresh, balanced and plentiful. Local and continental breakfast.  Lunches are usually light, consisting of salads, sandwiches, and other local dishes. Main meals for dinner, mainly rice, chicken, vegetables, lamb and other delicious local dishes.  Fruits available after most meals. Mineral water, juices, coffee & tea at all time.  All dietary requests will be met to the best of our ability.
